Our story

Engineering discipline, finally priced for real businesses

M

Mitchell Thomas

Founder · Full-stack engineer

"I kept meeting brilliant business owners paying for websites nobody was actually taking care of. The technology to fix that at a fair price finally exists — so I built the company I kept wishing existed for them."

The itch

Watching good businesses get bad technology

Mitchell spent years as a full-stack engineer shipping production software — the world of staging environments, code review, deployment pipelines, and systems that page you when they break. Then he'd watch a friend's business get handed a website by an agency: no staging, no monitoring, updates applied straight to production on a Friday, and a monthly invoice explaining none of it. The gap wasn't talent. It was that engineering discipline had never been priced for a music school or a family clinic.

The bet

Automation made the impossible price possible

The discipline was never the expensive part — the hours were. So we built our own tooling: automation, designed and supervised by our engineers, that performs the repetitive operational work every single night — optimization sweeps, staged updates, verified backups — so human time goes where it matters: judgment, craft, and building what's next. Mitchell architected the pipeline the way he'd build it for a tech company — approval gates, audit trails, row-level security — and priced it for real businesses.

The rule

Show the log, always

One rule shaped everything: every action taken on a client's site is logged, timestamped, in plain language, where the client can read it. It's harder to build and impossible to fake — which is exactly why it's the rule. Timberwright's portal isn't a marketing dashboard; it's the actual operations record. Clients watch the 3 AM sweep the next morning with their coffee.

Now

A technology department, subscribed

Today Timberwright runs complete technology operations for growing businesses — care, search, engineering, and products — on the conviction that the next decade belongs to companies whose tools work while they sleep. We build our own platform with the same hands that maintain your site. That's not a slogan; you can read our commit log.
